How long does it take the Cameroon GCE results to be out?

It takes approximately 45 days for the Cameroon GCE O/L and A/L to be out after the last paper is written.

When will GCE be out?

The 2023 Cameroon GCE O/L and A/L would be released today 24th of July, 2023. This happens to be the official month when the Cameroon GCE Board often releases both O/L and A/L.

Students should, however, should remain vigilant to always come back here to check the GCE 2023 Results when it’s officially been released.

How is the GCE graded?

The Cameroon GCE board grading system is very simple and easy to understand. However, both O/L and A/L are not graded the same.

At the O/L, the performance of a candidate in each subject attempted is indicated in descending order of merit by the grades A, B, C, D, E, O, or F which is recorded on the results slip issued to the candidate.

A pass in the O/L, subject is indicated by one of the three grades A, B, and C of which A is the highest and C is the lowest grade. Performance below Grade C is not recorded on the certificate.

Grade O indicates an Ordinary Level passed awarded in a subject taken at the Advance Level. It signifies that the candidate did not pass at the Advance Level but was judged to have reached at least the standard of Grade C of the Ordinary Level.

At the A/L, the performance of a candidate in each subject attempted is indicated in descending order of merit by the grades A, B, C, D, E, O or F which is recorded on the Result slip issued to the candidate.

A grade = 75-100

B grade = 70-75

C grade = 65-70

D grade = 60-65

E grade = 50-60

O grade = 45-49

A pass in an Advance Level subject is indicated by one of the five grades A, B, C, D, & E. With Grade A being the Highest and Grade E being the lowest. Grade F is recorded as a failing grade and is not often issued in certificates but may appear on your results slip.

What is the first thing to do when the GCE is out?

Everyone turns to have a spirit of anxiety or panic when they are told the GCE results are out. It’s common among everyone, both confident students and those that are not sure they will pass.

However, you shouldn’t panic when you are told the GCE results are out. No matter what you do, cry, laugh, shout, fast, pray, etc, the outcome on your result slip would not change.

The best way to handle the GCE results is to stay at home, be calm watch TV or listen to music, these activities will help calm down your nerves and reduce your anxiety and panic levels.

What happens if my name did not appear on the list?

Well, do not panic. Simply because your name is not on the results list does not necessarily mean that you failed the GCE.

There are several instances where students did not see their names on the GCE List but were surprised to see they had passed the GCE when they collected their results slips.

This is to say that, if you are confident you were to pass the GCE examination but did not see your name on the GCE Result List, then best not to cry that tears and punish yourself for nothing. You best wait until you collect your results slip and confirm your grades.
