INVENTORY MANAGEMENT TECHNIQUES AND ORGANISATIONAL PRODUCTIVITY IN GUINNESS CAMEROON S.A
Abstract
The primary goal of this study was to determine the impact of inventory management techniques on the organizational productivity of Guinness Cameroon S.A., specifically the impact of Economic Order Quantity, Just-In-Time technique, and ABC Technique on Guinness Cameroon’s organizational productivity.
Extraneous factors like as experience and its square were also used in the study to examine if they had a quadratic influence on Guinness Cameroon production. Guinness Cameroon has been observed unable to fulfill the market’s rising demand for its products.
The study employed an exploratory research design, and participants were chosen using a basic random sample procedure. The study used primary data acquired through questionnaires from 99 Guinness SA personnel in the Douala production center and warehouse, and the data collected was analyzed using regression analysis.
The findings revealed that Just-In-Time and ABC Techniques have a significant positive effect on the organisational productivity in Guinness Cameroon S.A. The extraneous variables experience and its square had a U-shape effect indicating an increasing effect on Guinness Cameroon productivity.
It was therefore recommended that Guinness Cameroon should improve on their techniques by reducing lead time on JIT, and properly classifying items in their ABC Technique while reducing the effort placed on the EOQ so as to improve its performance.
