BERNARD SHAW’S RELIGIOUS AND PHILOSOPHICAL DEVELOPMENT
Abstract
After reading through this two novel “Saint Joan”, Man and Superman”, the researcher is interested in social problems in terms of the development of human society. The researcher believes that creative evolution can be achieved by the life force. That is Religion must be practical, Just and concern itself with divine values of human life.
This thesis aims to explore Bernard Shaw’s religious and philosophical development and indicate how far his personal thoughts and religious ideas relate to his philosophical background and contemporaries, including his view as a philosophical artist. The study is based on the assumption that the life force of creative evolution, initiated by the power of human will, is essential to human progress.
CHAPTER ONE
BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
Research Problem
