THE EFFICIENCY OF THE COMPUTERIZED ACCOUNTING SYSTEM ON THE SERVICE DELIVERY OF NGOs IN CAMEROON
Abstract
This research looked at “the effectiveness of a computerized accounting system on the delivery of NGOs’ services in the Bamenda II Municipality.” As for dimensions of a computerized accounting system, accuracy and speed, storage and retrieval were investigated; as a standard dimension of service delivery, services and satisfaction of the target audience were investigated.
The particular objectives were to assess the impacts of computerized accounting correctness and speed on NGOs’ service delivery in the Bamenda II Municipality, as well as the effects of accounting data storage and retrieval on NGOs’ service delivery in the Bamenda II Municipality. For this study, a survey research design was used.
The data was gathered from primary sources. A systematic questionnaire was utilized to gather information from the target respondents, who were employees of the population’s organizations. The R square, modified R square, and model coefficients were determined using multiple regression analysis; the proposed hypothesis was evaluated using the analysis of variance (ANOVA) statistical approach at 0.05 significant levels.
The findings using SPSS V25 revealed that speed and accuracy, storage and retrieval (as elements of a computerized accounting system), services, and satisfaction of the target population will jointly and independently predict service delivery given the following results: services (1= 0.108247, p0.05), the satisfaction of the target population (2= 0.497527, p0.05), speed and accuracies (3= 0.404161, p0.05), storage and retrieval (4= 0.142928, p0.05).
The study, therefore, concludes that CAS influences service delivery. Ho is therefore rejected and H1 is accepted.
This research proposes that NGOs in the Bamenda II Municipality engage in computerized accounting systems to increase the speed, accuracy, storage, and retrieval of their organization’s records of requirements and gaps detected for the service to be delivered to the target community.
