Abstract

The border conflicts that happened between Folepi Fondom and her Mundani neighbors are examined in this article.

Folepi Fondom became the focal point of border conflicts with her neighbors during the research period, rendering the territory ungovernable for a wide range of reasons, including frequent clashes with one another.

These clashes had far-reaching consequences for the communities affected. The study looks at why there were recurrent clashes after several conflict resolution processes were used to address disagreements between Folepi and her Mundani neighbors.

Oral interviews, archival information, books, and scientific publications were all used as main and secondary sources.

The historical methods were used in presenting the data collected with much focus on the thematic and the analytical approaches.

Our findings revealed that, the area under study was so fertile for farming activities to the extent that it attracted the attention of communities which resulted to recurrent conflicts.

Furthermore, the settlement processes failed since the government neglected to take into account the local circumstances of the area’s indigenes throughout the resolution process.

Both the government and the indigenes should enhance the Ministerial degree establishing the different borders of Folepi Fondom and her neighbors, as well as physical pillars placed to act as boundary lines.
