THE ROLE OF COMMUNICATION ON ORGANIZATIONAL PERFORMANCE CASE STUDY: KOSAN CRISPLANT CAMEROON
Abstract
This piece of work titled the role of communication on organizational performance has been written in other to outline the various means of communication, and their effects on an organization’s performance.
The main objectives of this study are to access the role of communication on organizational performance, to diagnose the strengths and weaknesses of this organization as far as organization is a concern, and also to give the necessary recommendations.
The methods and sources of data collected were primary and secondary sources. The primary sources were classwork, face-to-face contacts with staff and customers of KCC, observations during an internship, and questionnaires to customers of KCC Ltd. The secondary sources were used to analyze data collected during the internship. After the analysis, it was confirmed that communication is a vital tool for the growth and development of an organization.
It was also noticed that organizations that use poor methods of communication will not attain their goals and objectives. Thus good communication skills should be adopted in other achieves optimum growth. To conclude, it is worth noting that role played by communications in an organization should not be underestimated. After a critical analysis, it is recommended that organizations should adopt communication tools like telephones, satellites, messages, suggestions boxes just to name a few
CHAPTER ONE
GENERAL INTRODUCTION
1.1 Background of the Study
Any well-organized structure needs people to run it for purposes of efficiency and efficacy. This is the more reason why operators of public, Para-public and private organization, look for personnel with the minimum required qualifications or skills to run their organizations.
General Corporate Performance
It can be assumed from communication kinds of literature that effective communication leads to productivity which will reflect in organizational enhancing organizational performance.
As many people understand something about communication, the concept itself is understood by many differently depending on where, when, and how it is being used. Communication is simply the exchange of messages verbally and non-verbally through letters, phone calls, computer printouts just to name a few. Verbal communication uses ward to exchange messages and includes both written and spoken words. Non –verbal communication completes the message exchange without the use of words. These two techniques are combined by good communicators to make their communication more effective.
Effective communication is essential to a successful family, social, and business relationship. A communication breakdown can lead to misunderstandings in our personal and business lives. For good communication skills will positively lead to high productivity. Communication is, therefore, a functional part of any organizational system and an integral part of the management process. It is equally a tool used by managers to manage their organizations effectively. This, therefore, means that the smooth functioning of any organization depends on how effective communication flows from superior without living out the customers who help in the business process.
1.2 Problem statement
Business communication in the world, Africa and Cameroon, in particular, is becoming a natural phenomenon or problem that has affected many organs the smooth functioning of any organization and is still affecting. And in spite of the effectiveness, communication processes instituted in organizations to enable and subordinators to carry out activities within and out of the organization, some enterprises are still facing problems in this area.
This is because managers, employees, and customers do not understand each other in their course of interaction. In cross where effective communication like simplified language and active listening is done, managers, employees, and customers still do not implement. The content of what is being communicated, and will then lead us to the question of how effective communication does affect organizational performance.

The main research is “what is the role of communication in organizational performance?”

- What is the effect of communication on organizational performance?
- What is the role of communication in public and private organizations?
- Why communication is overlooked in an organization?
- What policy implication can we derive on the basis of this analysis?

The objectives of this study are to access the role of communication in organizational performance.
- To show how communication affects organizational performance
- To examine the role of communication in KCC savings and loans cooperate society.
- To diagnose the strength, and weaknesses of this organization as far as communication is concerned and giving the necessary recommendations.
