THE LEVEL OF EDUCATION AT DISTANT AREAS. CASE OF GOVERNMENT PRIMARY SCHOOL NEW TOWN BAROMBI
Abstract
The purpose of the study was to compare the level of education in the cities and in distant areas like the rural areas such as the case of Government Primary School New Town Barombi Kumba. Also, the sought seeks to know the impacts of education in the rural areas as opposed to the urban areas like Buea.
It would help them to improve on the educational standard and enhance a favorable environment for learning. This work is going to help the education family and the government of Cameroon to take serious measures to enhance the growth of educational institutions and the population of Cameroon so that every child receives the same quality of education as experienced in the urban areas.
CHAPTER ONE
INTRODUCTION
1.1 Introduction
Due to the fact that human beings behave different towards education and also do parents and teachers behave differently towards their children and pupils respectively, and this go a long way to affect their academic performance. Parents have use parenting styles as disciplinary actions towards their children and also teachers have neglected and use the wrong disciplinary action towards pupils.
Education varies from place to place. The level of education, level in the urban will never be the same as educational level in the rural areas. The impact of educational features is felt mostly in the city centers whereas it is highly neglected and evenly completely absent in the rural areas. This also has to do with parents who see education in the rural areas as not really necessary instead farming is highly encouraged. The teachers too have a part to play when it comes to education of these people.
1.2 Background Study
In the early days, education was introduced by the colonial masters to help shape the altitude, values, norms, beliefs, skills and cultures of the people. This was to bring the society into a better and comfortable spheres. The educational level of those early days where not up to standard as many where to improve mostly on the attitude and skills of the population, made up of mostly adult education.
The technical section of education was mostly encouraged rather than grammar section of education. The level of education at distant area is to how there is a great bridge between urban education and rural education. Since independence, the level of education has greatly influence the country’s growth and this is because of the change in educational objectives of our country. In the colonial days, education was meant to produce attitude to be able to relate with the community and skills to better handle objects.
At present self-discipline and responsible citizenship are some of the educational objectives of the Cameroon system of education. In order to strive to in calculate the value of good citizenship and self-development in the pupils, the head teacher and pupils have to be all involved in the process and parental control in order to effectively maintain it.
1.3 Statement of the Problem
The level of education at distant area should be well noted and given special attention. This is to enhance a balance in socio-economic standard and to enhance regional balance. It should be looked upon that, those who are given the opportunity to teach in schools at distant areas, should endeavor to do their work seriously and do what they are being paid for. Also parent should realize that their needs to be discipline at home first before the school authorities can take care of the rest. The problem there is the level and also the impact of education at distant areas like in Government primary school new town Barombi in Cameroon.
