Executive Summary
The objective of this internship is to provide students with preliminary work experiences that will aid them in their future career. To improve upon skills that will help the students to find a job such as writing a resume, passing the employer’s interview. During my one-month industrial training at LA REGIONALE the intern was assigned to the various departments and carried out the following activities; customer service, we welcome both old and new customer in to the union and also help some filling their deposit and withdrawal slip.
The intern also participated in the account opening department were new members are being registered and brought in to the union. In the union they have the various products they offer to their customers such as; western union, money gram, Ria, sigue, money transfer, world remit, small world, pay top, and cash express.
They also offer Akahoo which trader’s carryout daily savings. Based on my objectives and my findings at the internship the intern discovered that the internship program helps students to apply their theoretical knowledge acquired. At la Regionale, the intern encountered issues like inadequate learning materials due to the fact that most of their documents were kept in archives since they had other interns and so, access was restricted.
Based on the SWOT analyses of la regional the intern would say that its biggest strength lies in its mission, which is to continuously develop and improve the livelihood of their members. There is lack of segregation of duty which is one of la Regionale’s weakness and also it is open to the general public, la Regionale faces competition with other credit unions given the rate at which credit unions are multiplying in Cameroon.
In order for la Regionale to grow the intern recommend that they should be a segregation of their duties, employed more workers, the intern further recommends that quality passbook should be made. To conclude, the intern would like to say that the intern gained a lot of experience during my time at la Regionale and it help me improve on my professional skills.
CHAPTER ONE
INTRODUCTION
1.1 Background To The Internship

Against the backdrop, the intern was privilege to be an intern for a period of approximately one month in the micro institution LA REGIONALE Limbe Cameroon. It covered a period from the month of July to the month of August 2023 and was guided by field supervisor.
Definition Of Internship
Internship is an opportunity to integrate career related experience into an undergraduate education by participating in a planned and supervised work.
Internships also provide real world experience to those looking to explore or gain the relevant knowledge and skills required to enter into a particular career field. Internship are relatively short term in nature with the primary focus on getting something “on the job training” and taking what is learned to the classroom and applying it to the real world. Interns generally have a supervisor assigns specific tasks and evaluates the interns overall work. For internship for credit, usually a faculty sponsor will work along with the site supervisor to ensure that the necessary learning is taking place. Many undergraduate students do internship to gain relevant experience in a particular career field as well as to get exposure, to determine if they have genuine interest in the field. Internships are an excellent way to begin building those all-important connections that are valuable in developing and maintaining a strong professional network for the future.
Background and Purpose of Internship
Internship can be thought of as the capstone experience for students in terms of learning about a career field, following other activities that come earlier in an academic and professional training programmed.
Unlike more traditional vocational programs, internships are not designed to prepare undergraduate students for specific jobs upon graduation. Rather, they are designed to expose students to career fields, entire industries, and to provide broadly defined workplace skills relevant across many jobs. They are also designed to show students the relevance of academic skills, which are increasingly important in most workplaces. Academic internships need to be designed with is in mind. Most employers not only understand this philosophy but applaud it. They want well prepared employees in terms of academic skills and broadly define workplace skills, exactly the sort focused on internship. They can (and prefer to) provide ant needed job specifics training.
Internships are not jobs in the traditional sense, they are learning experiences. Students often (and preferably) work in a variety of departments, learning the range of jobs and careers within the company of agency.
Almost all can be useful if the employer understands the purpose and has the students (as well as the company’s) interest in mind. The common underlying principle is that they expose students to meaningful learning experience that show them the relevance of what they are learning in school, teach them at least a bit about what it means to have a job and help in their development of an educational and career plan for the future. An internship is a chance to use a “business classroom” to connect with what is happening at school to add value to the educational experience, and to clarify the vast number of options available to students. Through internships, the student’s education is improved by:
1) Introducing the intern to modern workplace equipment and actual workplace problems.
2) Giving young people access to experience that require more knowledge and skills than ordinary “student jobs”
3) Giving educators and employers to work together in preparing students for success in the workplace.
4) Helping educators connect the classroom to the modern workplace
5) Helping students understand the importance of their classroom introduction.
6) Providing experience to be listed on the students resume.
7) Giving students the opportunity to have a real-world experience in a career field in which they have an interest.
8) Creating possible future opportunities for young people in the companies where they intern (and possible future employees for companies that need them).

Indeed, started with a capital of 100millionXAF, the company fell victim to the misdeed of his own success. This is how from December 1997 to December 1998, she experienced many cash flow problem which led him to narrow the network consequently the decrease of the staff. It is from the year 2000 and after its entry in to the project PREPAFEN that the journey to new horizons was consider. After serious exploits in the payment of its debt, the company returned to innovation strategy around the year 2004. We then saw the emergence of new products including money transfer. Thus, in order to strengthen its capacities and in view of the regulation of Central African Banking Commission (COBAC). The company become the January1th 2005, a public limited company with a capital of 150 million XAF. But it should be noted that on this day, it has a fully paid-up capital of 680million and its head office is in YAOUNDE, a place called parc des Repiquet.
In addition, the COBAC distincquishes three (3) categories namely, the first one is that they collect savings from its members and grant them loans. The second category which collect savings and grants credit to third parties. Therefore, operations are open to the public. The third category, more specialized in investment, give out credit to third parties without prior deposit.
Whatever their category, these structures have found their merits is that their main purpose was to breach the gap created by traditional banks in order to ensure their integration in to the economic movement, all the more so as the scale of transactions carried out by banks offered very little space to small economic operators who mostly operate in the sector informal. So, in the the same way our concern is to know the measure put in place by them for good management front and back office operation what strategies are used in place to ensure the proper functioning of these (EMF) by avoiding slippage.
To address this concern, we presented our report whose teaching will be articulated on two axes; first of all, it environment of the structure and talk. Secondly, the management of front and back office operations within the REGIONALE SA. And finally, we carryout remark such as suggestions.
