CHAPTER ONE
INTRODUCTION
1.1. Reasons for internship
I decided to carry out my internship for the following reasons which will be seen in the preceding paragraphs.
Firstly, Internships are a great way to apply the knowledge from the classroom to real-world experience. Learning is one thing, but taking those skills into the workforce and applying them
is a great way to explore different career paths and specializations.
To add, having an internship benefits you in the working environment, and it also builds your professional network. There is a 1 in 16 chance of securing a job by connecting with people, so networking is critical. Internships provide a great environment to meet professionals in the career field you want to pursue, as well as other interns who have similar interests.
Furthermore, internship helps you figure out your interest. You might think you know the career you want, but you won’t know it is the right fit until you gain professional experience. This is one reason why internships are so important when deciding on a career.
For example, you may carry out your internship at a radio station for the first year and later do It at a newspaper house the second year. Then you realize that you enjoy working for print than for broadcast and finally you decide to specialize in print after graduation
To continue, I equally decided to do internship because it teaches one how to balance work and life. When you attend college, you might have a unique schedule that allows you to work out, take a nap or meet with others between classes. However, the typical office job makes for a very different schedule.
By completing an internship, you can learn more about how to prioritize tasks such as exercising, socializing or completing chores before and after your workday.. Learning about This helps you develop your time management skills, as your new schedule makes you think more about how to structure your daily routine around office hours.
To conclude, internship also helps to introduce u to office politics. Interning in an office environment is the perfect place to observe office politics and learn how to approach them. Office politics include components such as office gossip, general attitudes and behaviors or general workplace culture can teach you how to maintain good relationships with future coworkers and how to communicate effectively with upper management to make changes or ask for guidance.
