EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

This report describes my activities at Landmark Technologies, during my internship carried between the months of July 5th to September 10th 2022. The objective of the internship was to acquaint myself with the application of HTML, CSS and JavaScript in building Web based Management System. My case study was a Restaurant Management system. During the period of this internship I was able to learn how to use HTML, CSS and JavaScript which helped me a lot in my project.

The Zeal to learn how to draw an ER Diagram was in my mind so during my internship period, I was able to learn how to go about the whole process and I can say it was a success because I actually learn and was able to implement it in my project. Further, GIT was introduce to us which is a version control system that helps in making work easier between companies and workers online i.e. it ease communication between the workers. With this I learned how to create an account with GIT and also how to push and pull which is very essential in our society today.

Though the internship was going well, I Encountered some challenges which are:

Since we did not really have a well-planned program to follow, I was not able to learn all what I anticipated I would learn so I was not really fulfill. Following the theory in class and coming to the field, it was not an easy experience because it was not easy for me to implement what I was thought in class practically, I saw that I had to put more work in other to be in the same pace with others.

Recommendations: My recommendations to Landmark Technology is that, they should look for a bigger space that can accommodate more interns in the coming years and also have a well-planned program for interns who will be coming in.

CHAPTER ONE

GENERAL INTRODUCTION

1.0 General Background of an Internship

An internship   is a working experience that provides a variety of benefits for young workers who want to broaden their chances for landing a job and jump – starting their careers. Internship gives you taste of what a profession is like, help you build your resume and let you meet people who can help you in your career. Don’t be passive during an internship and miss opportunities to expand your business background. Take the advantage of benefits of holding an internship.

1.1 Objectives of the Internship

• Many students going to the field or for an internship have objectives. My objective(s) of carrying out this internship was, to acquaint myself with the application of HTML, CSS and JavaScript which will help me in building Web sites.
• Also, knowing how to develop a database has been my cry so this also became my objective too for carrying the internship so that I could be able to combine both the theory in class and the practical at the field which will boost up my knowledge about databases.
• Again, the excitement to know how it feels to work in a company and having other colleagues who I will be working with was my objective too of carrying out an internship.

1.2 Importance the internship

• The internship I carried out at Landmark Technologies was helpful to me in the sense that, I was able to practicalized what I was thought in class in the field.
• This internship also helped me fulfill my objectives I had when I came into the field, which were: knowing how to develop a database, learning HTML, CSS and JavaScript which actually I did learn it and was able to apply it to my project.
• The internship also helped me to learn more from my other colleagues who knew more about certain topics, which we were introduced to and I was able to give my opinion of what is think concerning the group projects that were given and this is because We worked in teams.
• Again, the internship helped me to be time conscious. With the notion that I was carrying out an internship in a company made me to be time conscious because I needed to be early each day.
• Though I was not able to realize the project given to me due time, am hoping to realize it as I go ahead.
