FIRE PROTECTING SYSTEM
Abstract
A fire protection system is the installation and use of structural and operational systems to minimize the impact of fire on people and property
To protect human life by quickly detecting any presence of unwanted fire and extinguishing flames to minimize the risk of injury, damage of properties and death
Protect life and properties, limit damage ,maintain continuity of operations and ensure the safety of workers and others involved
After installation , the flame sensor is placed above the surface of the room in order to sense the a certain degree of heat from a specific distance away from the system. There after, the buzzer starts alarming in order to trigger the water pump to pour out water through the arduino
The systems are usually well installed .However the problem appears after this stage, where it is frequent to observe a complete disregarding for the accomplishment of maintenance and testing planning . Dieken states that when facing a fire about one third of safety system do not work properly just because of the lack of inspection, test or maintenance of such system
The solution relies on establishing a maintenance and test planning routine and to assure its accomplishment.
CHAPTER ONE
GENERAL INTRODUCTION
1.1 Brief Background
The modern fire sprinkler system, as we know it today, had its start in 1982. Architect Wiliam Congreve installed the first one in the Theatre Royal, Dury Lane in London.Suprisingly, fire sprinkler systems were not designed to put out fire, but to contain them. When a fire occurs, the heat from the flames increases causing a heat-sensitive glass bulb or metal link in the fir sprinkler head above the fire to break . The automatic sprinkler was tthen improved by Henry Parmalee and later perfected by Frederick Grinnell in 1890’s.
1.2 Problem Statement
The systems are usually well installed .However the problem appears after this stage, where it is frequent to observe a complete disregarding for the accomplishment of maintenance and testing planning. Dieken states that when facing a fire about one third of safety system do not work properly just because of the lack of inspection, test or maintenance of such system
1.3 Main Objective
Protect life and properties, limit damage, maintain continuity of operations and ensure the safety of workers and others involved
1.4 Scope
Design a system able to detect fire form a range of at least 20meters and that will be able to detect an unwanted fire and put it off due to the flame sensor and indicate using the buser that will all be connected and made to function by the arduino.
1.5 Significance Of The Study
The significance of studying this project is to promote the production of fire protection systems by sprinklers.
Also, this project with bring forth the efficiency in electrical devices being able to be precise in their functioning while being useful in daily human life.
