A ONE MONTH INDUSTRIAL PLACEMENT AT THE AD TRANSIT SARL
Executive Summary
The internship was carried out at AD TRANSIT SARL. An internship is a programme organized to give students the opportunity to blend theories with practice under the supervision of the practitioners. This internship is also to help identify the problems faced in the real-world life enterprises and suggest workable solutions to improve on performance.
As well as to fulfill the requirement for the award of the Bachelor degree in transport and logistics). This work is divided into five chapters. Chapter one looks at the general introduction, aims and objectives of the internship, chapter two brings out the historical background of the organization, organizational structure, its aims and objectives.
Chapter three talks of the activities carried out by the intern in each department which brought about the interns focus area custom clearance procedures. Chapter four evaluates the strength and weaknesses of the organization and chapter five proposes some recommendations to AD TRANSIT SARL.

Product recycling: it is the process of recovering materials from waste and turning it in to new product in which the original product is been destroyed
Remanufacturing : it is an industrial process whereby used products or breakdown components normally described as cores are restored to useful life through a sequence of processes
Product return : it is a process through which a customer taking previously purchased merchandise back to the retailer, and in return receiving a refund in the original form of payment, exchange for another item or a store credit.
Container terminal: It is a transport terminal that handles containerized cargo
Custom house: It is a place where custom duties are paid and goods entered are cleared.
Groupage: It is a process of combing cargo from different area or person in other to fill up a container ready for shipment.
Demorage: It is money paid by the carrier to the shipper when laydays have been exceeded.
Free trade zone: It is a geographical area where goods maybe imported, stored, handled, manufactured and re-exported under specific custom regulation and generally not subjected to custom duties.
Photosanitary: Deals with the quality of goods carried out by SGS and ANOR
Custom agent: A custom agent is a law enforcement office working on behalf of the government to carry out inspections on goods and people moving in and out of the country.
Transit: It is the importation of goods destined for other countries. It is a custom regime that permits the transportation of goods in suspension of taxes and duties following a determined passage respecting the duration of movement given, it also goes in suspending all economics measures and prohibitions from one point to another covered by cautions. It is that regime that allows custom formalities to take place at the point of destination rather than the point of entry into a custom territory.
Freight forwarder: A freight forwarder is an individual or a third-party agent often without shipping and transporting assets operating on your behalf to arrange with others the carriage of your freight.
Custom duty: It refers to the tax imposed on goods when they are transported across international borders.
Consignor: In a contract of carriage, it is the person sending a shipment to be delivered either by land, air, and sea. He is considered as the former owner of the consignment goods who makes a transfer ownership of a consignment to another upon payment.
Consignee: It is an individual to whom the goods transported is to be delivered to. He is considered to be the real owner of the consignment who fulfills customs formalities at the port of destination upon the payment of duties and taxes and obtaining the custom declaration.
One Stop Shop: It is a place where many services are being offered. It was created to ease the clearance process of imported goods in Cameroon.
Manifest: It is a shipping document used by the customs personnel reviewing a particular transport vehicle intended trip that summarizes all bill of lading that have been used by the carrier.

AD TRANSIT SARL was created in 2013 and founded by Mr Munde Valentine, it is a limited liability company having its head of manager and approved custom broker. It is located in Ancient PMUC located in Akwa Douala. In the content of professional sectors, AD TRANSIT SARL developed many ways in which it could perform a good job and meet with the needs of its customers.
AD TRANSIT SARL carries out several activities such as Customs, Transit, Import, Transport, Trading. These activities have helped to push the company forward. In terms of human resource, the company cannot function without a minimum number of employees of about 9 to perform various activities. Its material resource includes computers and different freight cars. It has asset of goals to achieve in other to improve the quality of its service.
