ONE MONTH INTERNSHIP ON CUSTOMER LOYALTY STRATEGIES CARRIED OUT AT THE CATHOLIC COMMUNICATION SERVICE (CACOS) BUEA
Abstract
The Catholic Communication Service faced challenges of the lack of workers who could readily compile papers as well the problem of power failure. Printing is the main activity of the organization. This study is on Customer Loyalty with main objective to find out strategies in gaining customers loyalty. It was carried out at the Catholic Communication Service (CACOS) Buea. The data collection was primary with observation as the type since it required the intern’s own observation.th study attempted to find out the level at which customers recreation approaches can be used to achieve brand loyalty. The findings from the public shows that customers need a repeat of promotional activities in order to win and retain potential customers. The recommendations are that the organisation to demand the price that which business agent can easily afford to pay for the advertisement of their organization, and also making sure that customers are well satisfied thus will pave ways to relationship marketing and likewise long-term relationship between the organisation’s stakeholders.
CHAPTER ONE
INTRODUCTION
In this chapter we will present the company where the study was carried out, the history of the company and its main activities. Also a brief description of the various departments and functions, the objective of internship and definition of some terms used in this study report and lastly a clearly drawn organigram/organizational structure.
- Presentation of Company
The Catholic Communication service (CACOS) is a communication services organization with it main activity as printing. It also runs Journalism, Evangelisation and Advertisement through the radio and the Press (Cameroon Panorama) respectively.
The Catholic Communication service started as far back in 1962 and was founded by Rev. Bernard Stukards with its name as the Catholic Bulleton which operated first in Kumba thereafter, it was transferred to Buea which is the present operating center. The name was changed from the Catholic Bulleton to Catholic Communication service (CACOS).
The Catholic Communication Service has its mission to print Panoramas a magazine which informs the Christian of the Catholic mission churches both national and international on the updates happening in the church worldwide. CACOS also does evangelization through the Cameroon Panorama and seeks adverts from institution shops and companies and likewise runs the radio and Morning Prayer sessions every Tuesdays. As an organization, CACOS happens to have departmental components with their various functions which will be examined as follows. These departments are;
– The Radio Department
– The Press Department
– The Communication Council department
– Director of Communication/Editing Department.
1.1.1. Radio Department
This department is headed by a Radio manager by name Fr Moseswho is in charge of the smooth functioning of the radio house/station. He also takes care of his workers and makes sure that the radio functions in full capacity. The radio runs the following programs.
– Broadcast daily news and announces the printing of the Cameroon Panorama magazine.
– Carries out bible teachings and educates the Christian church on the word of God.
– The radio also runs health tips programs that educate citizens.
– It also announces funeral programs of families.
1.1.2. Press Department
This department is headed by the manager of printing by name SenodSingfred he makes sure that the production and printing of the Cameroon panorama comes to a realization. He controls the printing department and reports to the Director of Communication. It should be noted that the press department is solely in charge of producing and printing of the Cameroon panorama magazine.
1.1.3. Director of Communication/Editing Department
This unit of the organization is control by the Communication Director by name Rev.BrSingfred Senod who approves the Cameroon panorama. He also given the Command for the magazine to be printed and announced at the radio station.
1.1.4. Communication council Department
The communication council of the Catholic Communication service (CACOS) is that department of the organization which is in charge of writing the panorama. This council is headed by 15 members who carryout different tasks in putting together the materials needed to produce and print the Panorama magazine.
1.1.5. Press Department
The press department does the printing of panorama, flyers, receipts, raffle tickets, newsletters, answer booklet, examination questions and calendars. The intern performed these;
– We also did compilation of rattle tickets, newsletters, flyers and also the Cameroon panorama distributed worldwide.
– We did trimming of flyers and panorama and cleaning the Gelotin machine.
– The binding of panoramas, flyers and calendars was also performed by the intern.
1.1.6. Prospection
The intern also carried out prospection to new prospect and potential users of the Cameroon panorama magazine and also seek out adverts of shops, companies, snacks and institutions. The intern was able to observed that the market environment is heterogeneous in accordance with the distinct buyers or consumer behavior in the market who are so price sensitive to products and services offered by companies.
1.1.7. Radio department
The intern was opportune to talk on air to the public about the Cameroon panorama magazine as a compelling advertising media of business. We also had a discussion about professional education and the knowledge of gaining or acquiring these skills are all in HIBMAT a school for professionals.
1.1.8. Accounting Department
With the Accounting Department, the intern was assigned by the Cashier to do payment of bills into the NPS account in the cash and Cash Equivalent Bank (CCE). In the process of payment, we were faced with the challenge in communicating in French language with the workers of the bank.
