Abstract

This report is based on one month internship carried out at the Gobal IT Solution kumba. This report contains information about the organization and the activities performed. The main purpose of this internship is to convert theory into practice by working in a practical environment. This is to tackle problems using the knowledge and skills acquired during theoretical lessons and those learned in the practical lessons.

The report contains details about the existing systems of the Global IT Solution that is activities carried out in the company such as web development, software solutions, and IT consulting.

CHAPTER ONE

INTRODUCTION

An internship is a learning situation where the student has the opportunity to gain practical experience. When placed in this situation, students expand their concept of different organizational structures and different working relationships within the work place. In order to obtain academic credit for this experience, the intern is required to complete an internship report as described below.

The intern is expected to provide information on the organization in which he or she worked, description of specific work completed, and commitment to the assign tasks. The report also provides information on our communication skills and should indicate critical thinking skills, since a major part of our experience should be related to analysis and interpretations of data that should be demonstrated in our report.

1.1 Presentation of company

Global IT Solutions, a prominent technology company, was founded in Bamenda in twenty twenty-two (2022) by Harman Ngome Dalan. The company’s primary objective was to provide innovative and cutting-edge IT services to business and individuals. Harman Ngome Dalan, a visionary entrepreneur, recognized the growing demand for technology solutions in the division and set out to establish a company that would address these needs.

In its initial stages, Global IT Solutions focused on offering services such as web development, software solutions and IT consulting. The company quickly gained a reputation for its technical expertise, reliability, and commitment to customer satisfaction. This success allowed Global IT Solutions to expand its client base and establish a strong presence in the local market.

However, in twenty twenty-one (2021), the company underwent a significant change. Harman Ngome Dalan made the strategic decision to relocate Global IT Solutions from Bamenda to Kumba. This decision was driven by several factors, including better infrastructure, a larger pool of skilled professionals, and increased business opportunities in Kumba.

The relocation to kumba proved to be a pivotal moment for Global IT Solutions. The company experienced rapid growth and became a leading provider of IT services in the division. With its expanded team and enhanced resources, Global IT Solutions diversified its offerings to include cyber security, cloud computing, data analytics, and mobile app development.

Under Harman Ngome Dalan’s leadership, Global IT Solutions fostered a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. In conclusion, Global IT Solutions began its journey in twenty twenty-twenty (2020), founded  by Harman Ngome Dalan in Bamenda after a year of successful operation, the company relocated to kumba in the year twenty twenty-one(2021). Through its focus on innovation, customer satisfaction, and strategic decision-making, Global IT Solutions emerged as a leading technology company, catering to the evolving needs of business in the digital age.

The  CEO Harman Ngome Dalan who is the head of software engineer and is also the head of marketing and advertisement at the Global IT Solution kumba.

1.2 Description of department of focus

The focus of this report is the Web Design department at the Global IT Solution Kumba which is what the company is based on. The department is responsible for the design and development of web-based applications using wordpress content management system. The department is made up of a team of web developers, designers and project managers who work together to create and maintain websites for the company

 1.3 Objectives of internship

• To give you the opportunity to utilize theoretical thoughts in real life circumstances at work place
• To sharpen domain knowledge and provide cross functional skill.
• To explain to students towards degree of corporate traditions and also get familiar with this individuals with corporate code of behavior.
• Trial run: One of the main objectives of an internship is to expose you to a particular job and a profession or industry. While you might have an idea about what a job is like, you won’t know until you actually perform it. For instance you might think advertising is a creative process that involves coming up with slogans and fund campaigns.
• Resume building: when you apply for jobs, the more experience and accomplishments you have the more attractive you’ll look to a potential employee make an impact when you work by asking for responsibilities and looking for ways to achieve accomplishments.
• Network contacts: Another benefit for an internship is to develop business contacts. This people can help you find a job later, act as
• references or help you with project after you are hired somewhere else.
• Potential job: If you like your internship, you have opportunity to excel and possibly gain employment with the company . Employers have an easier time hiring a person they know because they can get to tell for that person’s work ethic.

This is a software component that adds a specific feature to an existing computer program.

This is a visual editing tool used to create beautiful dynamic web pages.

This refers to tasks associated with creating, building, and maintaining websites and web applications that run online on a browser.

Chapter two is all about the literature review which is the process of creating a website using wordpress which is a relatively straightforward process. WordPress is a popular content management system that allows you to build and manage websites without needing advance technical skills. WordPress is an open-source platform that allows users to build websites for small, medium and large businesses. It is a tool used to create, design, store and display the web-content in a very optimized way. WordPress provides a user friendly interface for designing, customizing and publishing content on the internet. It is known for its versatility that is being able to adapt to different situations or conditions, making it suitable for a wide range of website types, including blogs, business websites, e-commerce stores and more.

Chapter three is all about the activities carried out every day during the internship process such as building of websites using wordpress as well as a little touch of maintenance.

Chapter four is all about the differences between theory and practice as well the company and intern challenges.
