FIELD PLACEMENT AT THE REGIONAL HOSPITAL, BUEA
CHAPTER ONE
INTRODUCTION
1.1 Purpose of Report
During this period of field work, students are being place in different institution both public and private depending on the private individual but which has a great impact on the lives of private individuals and groups with varying cultural background in complement of the course, students are able to do practical’s and receive theories in school, there by enable a better sense of understanding. Students in various agencies (institution) are obliged to study critically the agency bringing out problems that affects its functioning, as well as formulating the applicable solution.
1.2 Aims and objectives of the placement
The main aim of this placement is to permit students interact and gain professional skills in the world of works.
Secondly, it will also enable students to test hypothesis using the various data collection techniques through face to face interview and participant observation.
Thirdly, to understand the scope of social work and to identify social cases.
Again, the essence of placement is to enable students understand the function and system dynamites of the placement agency and to demonstrate awareness of biases, prejudice and stereotype as well as controls for those interaction with others.
Students in agencies should be able to identify and analyses problems in works environment using theatrical perspectives and also formulate recommendations for the identified problems areas.
Thus, (thereafter) draw a clear conclusion on which will spur the lecturers to believe that their theatrical efforts unblued in the students are not a waste.
Last but not the least, the activity is also to get the student qualified for a Bachelor of science in Sociology and Anthropology from the University of Buea
Specifically
- To develop the ability to demonstrate awareness of based prejudices and stereotypes.
- To develop the ability to analyze situations by using the theoretical perspective.
- To demonstrate the ability to adopt a professional role in work.
- Provides me with the ability to understand the function and system dynamites of the placement
